SO NOW YOU UNDERSTAND IT ALL?
JUST IN CASE YOU DON'T, OR TO CONFIRM YOUR ANSWERS, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF EXPLAINS THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER TO HIS DISCIPLES. SO READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH;
18 you therefore, hear the parable of the sower;
19 everyone hearing the WORD of the kingdom, and not understanding, then the evil one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart: this is that sown by the roadside.
20 and the seed sown in the rocky places is this; the one hearing the WORD, and immediately receiving it with joy, 21 but has no root in himself, but is temporary, and tribulation, or persecution occuring because of the WORD, he is at once stumbled.
22 and the seed sown in the thorn bushes is this; the one hearing the WORD, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceit of riches, choke the WORD, and it becomes unfruitful.
23 but the seed sown on the good ground is this; the one hearing the WORD, and understanding it, who indeed bears and produces fruit, one truly a hundredfold, and one sixty, and one thirty.
Parable = a story with a spiritual meaning, Jesus is not trying to teach us how to be farmers....

the sower; Jesus christ, or any of his servants
ground in general; people, peoples hearts
the roadside; people who don't understand the Word.
birds; the evil one, the devil
rocky ground; people who happily hear the WORD, but when there is any kind of pressure or unplesantness on them on account of the WORD, they immidiatley give up, because they have no root in themselves.
thorny bush ground; people who receive the WORD, but other desires for this life, choke the WORD, so it proves unfruitful.
good ground; people who receive the WORD, and keep it in a good and honest heart, and it produces more words of God, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

LET'S RE-WRITE THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER!
Jesus and one of his followers went out to spread the gospel. Now as they were spreading the Word, there were all kinds of people. the first ones heard the Word, but because their hearts were hard, the Word of God could not sink in and instead the devil came and snatched it away. The second group of people, they heard the Word of God gladly and seemed to receive it, but when their friends or co-workers or maybe family started laughing at them because of God's word, they quit, because they had no root in themselves, they were temporary followers, so the word dried out and did not bear any fruit. The third group of people, yes they received the word and it grew, but other things, maybe their career, or persuits of pleasure, or anything that can be put before God, grew up even faster and became bigger and stronger then the Word, and that stuff killed the Word and it did not bear any fruit. The fourth group of people, now they received the Word in a good and honest heart, it took root and grew and bore fruit, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control and also they spread the Word to others, of whom some became followers also.
