The Relationship between Grace and Faith

But through THE GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ, we BELIEVE to be saved, according to which manner they also BELIEVED.                                                                               Acts 15:11

And he having intended to go through into Achaia, having been encouraged, the brothers wrote to the disciples to welcome him; who, having arrived helped much those who were BELIEVING through GRACE.                                                                                                               Acts 18:27

By whom we received GRACE and apostleship to obedience of FAITH among all the nations, for His name's sake,                                                                                                              Romans 1:5

On account of this, it is of FAITH, that it be according to GRACE, for the promise to be certain to all the seed, not to that of the Law only, but also to that of THE FAITH of Abraham, who is father of us all,                                                                                                               Romans 4:16

Through whom also we have had access by FAITH into this GRACE in which we stand, and we glory on the hope of the glory of God.                                                                            Romans 5:2

For through THE GRACE which is given to me, I say to everyone being among you, not to have high thoughts beyond what is right to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God divided A MEASURE OF FAITH to each. But having different gifts according to THE GRACE given to us, whether prophecy, according to the proportion of the FAITH;            Romans 12:3&6

But even as you abound in everything, IN FAITH, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love in us, that you also should abound in this GRACE.             2 Cor 8:7

For BY GRACE YOU ARE SAVED, THROUGH FAITH, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;                                                                                                                   Ephesians 2:8

And I have THANKS to Him empowering me, our Lord Jesus Christ, because He counted me FAITHFUL, putting me into the ministry, but THE GRACE of our Lord abounded exceedingly with FAITH and love in Christ Jesus.                                                                 1 Timothy 1:12&14

God’s grace and faith are inseparable. (Note; in this chapter when I mention faith it is always Faith/Believe since they are the same word in the Greek; believe is the verb and faith is the noun) We are saved by God’s grace through faith. God’s grace empowers us to live by faith and to be the person God wants us to be. Grace and faith are given by God and faith is also of hearing the word of Christ. Without Grace there is no faith and without faith there is no grace. They are like brothers; Grace is the big brother to faith. The reason why I call Grace the “big brother” to faith is because grace is part of God’s nature and grace is from beginning to eternity; faith is for the here and now and until we attain to the resurrection of the just. Grace and Faith stick together just as King David and Jonathon loved each other like they were brothers. We stand in God’s grace and walk by faith. We believe by the grace of God and in turn it is of faith that the basis is God’s grace. God’s grace leads to the obedience of faith. Grace is the foundation and a big part of building on that foundation is living by faith. Faith is given by God and it is what “connects” me to God. Grace is also given by God and we experience it and it is how God “connects” with his own. God’s grace puts us in a blessed condition and Faith helps us to live in it.
Grace is sort of like food, or air; we need to get it, we need it every day and all the time; it feeds you and changes you, empowering you to be who God made you to be.
Faith is more like a seed and a plant. Faith is planted or deposited – it gets watered, it grows – becomes stronger. If you have faith like a mustard seed you can say to this mountain…
Faith and grace overlap each other; we are justified by God’s grace and we also are justified by Faith.
